Plush, with state-of-the art sound and lighting systems, the Thiebaud Auditorium seats 805 people. It is the site of the annual Fair Queen Pageant, the Miss Merry Christmas Pageant series, and numerous annual community events, such as the Gospel Music Celebration in conjunction with the annual Lamar Free Fair. The auditorium can be rented for a very reasonable fee.
The user will likely need to arrange for a sound technician, from our pre-approved list. Check with the facility manager to determine need. The fee for the technician is in addition to the fee for the auditorium itself, and currently is $20.00 an hour.
Included in the facility are 2 large meeting rooms with a kitchen, that are available for a nominal fee for meetings, banquets, reunions, etc. The rooms can be configured singly or together to seat up to 250 for a classroom setting, or 175 for table seating. Audio visual equipment is available.
The Auditorium is home to the Lamar Community Theater. Check the links on our home page to find out more about LCT. There are dressing rooms available in the fully functioning theater/auditorium.

Additionally, the parks and Recreation Office is located in the Thiebaud Auditorium. Office hours Mon.- Fri. 8-5.
