Nevada Little League Football Rules

  1. Any player who will handle the ball (QB, RB, Receiver, TE, or punt returner) must weigh under 120 pounds(5-6th Grade) and 100 pounds (3-4th Grade) A Tight end may weight more if he is not going to handle the ball.      Exception: any player who recovers a fumble or intercepts a pass.  

  2. Weigh in will be prior to the first game,  or the first game a player plays. All players will weight in, so coaches should be aware of the weight before first game. Players who are at first game will not be allowed to weight in after first game.

  3. Punts (5th & 6th )will be declared on fourth down. If a team chooses to punt, the punter will have a two count to get the ball punted away.   After the ball has been punted or the two count is expired, opposing team may cross the line of scrimmage to block, tackle or go after the ball.

  4. Punts (3rd & 4th) will be declared on fourth down. If a team chooses to punt, the clock will stop.  Players will line up in punt formation with punter 8 yards behind the line.  An official will hand the punter the ball at which time he will punt. Once punted, players from either team may advance toward the ball. Once the ball is fielded the clock will start.

  5. All blocking on kicks and punts must be above the waist. No cut blocks.

  6. FAKE PUNTS will not be allowed.  If the declared "punt team" attempts to advance the ball, the opposing team will take over possession at the point of the tackle. If the advancing team crosses the fourth down line of scrimmage, the opposing team will take possession at the line of scrimmage.

  7. Onside kicks are allowed. The ball must travel 10 yards before being touched by the kicking team. The ball will not advance , but placed at the point of possession.

  8. Field goals may be attempted. These are live play with no "two-count" and defense may rush at the snap.

  9. Extra points will be scored as follows:  Run or Pass play - 1 point, Field goal -2 points

  10. Ties after regulation play time will be played out as follows:  Each team will get possession at their ten yard line and has four plays to attempt to score plus one extra point attempt if they do score. Overtime will be played out until one team scores more points.

  11. Face mask penalties will be enforced as follows:  a) at official's discretion  b) tackling  at the head/helmet or hands on same will be called  and  c) a 5 yard penalty assessed for accidental contact and 15 yards for intentional contact or violence.

  12. All other infractions will be assessed and penalized according to Junior High rules

  13. Coaches are ultimately responsible for the behavior of the team, himself, parents and fans during games. Violators of rules of conduct will be ejected immediately. A second violation by the same individual will result in permanent banning from all games.  Lamar team member's parents signed the code of conduct on the registration form. If violations occur after the game, the suspension will be enforced at the the following game.
