Summer Ball  FAQ’s

Tee Ball

·        5 – 6 years olds (generally) on mixed teams of boys and girls

·        Boys or girls must be going into kindergarten or first grade in Fall 

·        All Tee ball games are in Lamar on Monday and Thursday nights

 

BOYS – Baseball                                             Nights they will LIKELY play (as of 2/20)

                                                                                                          NOT guaranteed until after drafts

·        Junior (Machine Pitch) must be going into 2-3rd grades in Fall              Mon/ Thu

·        Minor boys ball must be going into 4-5th grades in Fall                          Mon/ Thu

·        Major boys ball  must be going into 6-7th grades in Fall                         Tue / Fri

·        Senior boys ball must be going into 8-10th grades in Fall                        Tue / Fri

 

GIRLS - Softball

·        Junior girls must be going into 2-3rd grades in Fall                               Mon/ Thu

·        Minor girls must be going into 4-5th grades in Fall                                Mon/ Thu

·        Major girls must be going into 6-8th grades in Fall                                Tue / Fri

 
Answers:

·        Draft is set tentatively for April 12-13th

·        Practice begins week immediately after – coach picks practice night

·        Play Night determined by number of teams in a division and field availability

·        Games start May 14 and run through June 29, 2006 including make-ups

o       Games are played Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri. 

o       Games may be in Lamar or Jasper, and Senior Boys may play one in Liberal.

·        Coaches do not pick their assistants until after the team is drafted. Coaches’ kids will be on their teams, of course.  Sometimes a sponsor chooses what coach they want to sponsor if the owner or owner’s relative wants to coach.

·        Parents cannot pick what team your child will be on, the coach, the league, or who is on his or her team. That is all done randomly so to be as fair as we can make it.

New for 2007   A co-ed adult (16 or older) league on Tuesday and Friday nights on Fields 5 & 6. Limited to 8 teams . If your team wants in this league contact the Parks & Rec office for rules. No Individuals may register at this time, only teams. Teams will provide their own insurance or sign waivers. Call for more info or a form. 682-5851
