The Lamar City Lake is located at 214 SE 15th Road and covers 250 acres. It is used primarily for the city's water source, although it is also used for recreational fishing. Located at the lake are picnic tables, a playground for children, a covered boat dock, and four fishing piers.

This shows the release of fish done in a manner less traumatic to new fish.
Anglers are reminded to release any grass carp caught at City lake or at Wheeler Park Pond, as they help keep the moss and unwanted plants down. Length limits brochures are available for all other species at the lake office or by clicking on the boat picture above.
